Why Wineries Created Wine Clubs

Every day there are tons of people looking for online wine clubs but most of those people don’t know one big secret which pervades the industry: private labels.

A private label is a wine made specifically for one single purpose. The idea was originally created as a way for a winery to export wine without damaging their regular brand, or as a way for a winery to sell some of their extra wine in good years. Of course, wineries such as Bronco Wine Company have taken the idea to the next level and create private labels on a daily basis, both for export as well as for sales within the United States especially at the grocery store Trader Joe’s. Some online wine clubs take this example and create private labels to ship to their club members which deprives people of the ability to visit these wineries in person as well as giving them cheaper wine than they were expecting in their shipment.
